A new tape was just intercepted of Al Zarqawi cheering on his insurgent buddies in Fallujah saying, "Victory is near at hand!" It reminds me of how the Japanese leaders used to lie to their people and soldiers during WWII. They, too, used to tell them that victory was close at hand even though they were losing island after island to the US. They also used to explain to the Japanese that a battle loss was a moral victory. At least they weren't captured by the "OTHERS." They actually convinced military AND civilians to commit suicide if capture was imminent. Thousands of families, men, women, and children, threw themselves off of cliffs to avoid capture. I only wish the Fallujah insurgents would do that as well.
