    Nice Gut Check

Winning in the 11th to take 3 of 4 from the division leaders showed some guts.

    Nice job.

    Keep it up.

Still 8 back, and have a bunch of teams to climb over. It won't be easy.

the mets are one year, two at most, from being a very good team.

The Mets are 1 or 2 starters, and 2 guys in the pen, including a closer, away from competing for the division title regularly. The lineup is fairly solid, although Piazza is nowhere close to the same guy he used to be, and there is a hole at 1B.

i'd be content with one starter, two pen guys, a catcher and a 1b.

no, but the mets are showing some promise, and the rest of july is a very easy schedule: Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Dodgers, Rockies, Houstan.

They have a chance to really get something going

looper has been automatic ever since his blunder against the yankees, and before that, he was doing very good. As for the pen, if you look at the past series with the nats, the bullpen had a total ERA of 0.00.

That is not that bad, especially against the second best record in the national league.

Well, scratch off the series with Pittsburg. A total failure.

Atlanta is playing very well, and is only 2.5 behing the Nats. Houston has come back from the dead to push .500, which is right where the Mets are. Dodgers are never an easy out.

You guys lost everything you gained after taking 3 of 4 against the Nats.
