In case you missed it, the Yankees are....

In sole possession of first place in the AL East.

I thought the season was over? What happened?

THAT will make JacktheRipper stop whining about the Yanks.

We are holding a slim lead against the Rangers.

Games been over for 7 minutes and we won...

Unless you mean slim lead on the Red Sox and Orioles in the standings?

I do not think this will stop Jack from his rants. But it's good to be back on top. Now Seirra is out for 2 weeks. The bench includes Tino, Phillips, Womack, Flaherty and Crosby, with 1 of these guys being the DH.

Not a pretty sight. I guess Giambi will DH a bit, with Tino at 1B, while Phillips fills in at DH on occasion, and Giambi moves to 1B. Or Crosby gets a game in the OF, with Sheff DHing.

Giambi becomes the every day DH and Tino becomes the every day first baseman until Sierra can come back. I think the team is better with Tino than Sierra in the lineup (mainly for the defensive upgrade at first).

That better not be the case. Bernie CANNOT PLAY CF ANYMORE!!!!!! AT ALL! Giambi plays 1B everyday, Bernie DH's everyday, and someone else plays CF. If that is Bubba for right now, then it has to be Bubba.

Bernie cost us 5 runs last night and has cost us probably over 30 over the course of the season.

That's why the Red Sox crowd was cheering him to make a mistake on the very first game for the Yankees this season.

The Devil Rays did the Yanks a favor and knocked of the Sox at Fenway.

THAT'S what got us 1st place.

I still doubt this team makes the playoffs. Here are my reasons

    1. Baltimore is too good
-Great young pitching staff with Bedard, Burnett, Lopez, Ponson, Cabrera
    - Amazing Offense

    2. Yankees have NO pitching
    -can't win without starting pitching

    3. Offense won't stay hot forever
    -wait until they face Anaheim

    4. Outfield Defense

The Yankees are not a first place calibur baseball team at this juncture

my prediciton: Yankees win 85 games, finsih 3rd, miss playoffs!!!!

Yeah, THAT is what got us to first place. The Red Sox ONE lose to the Devil Rays.... it had nothing to do with our 3 week hot streak?

All you f-in do is complain..bout the Yanks...bout the Jets...

YOU had the season over when Wang went down...how is that prediction working out. You remind me of one of the fans that love to ***** about EVERYTHING so you can sound right if the team loses...then be the first one screaming HELL YEAH WE DID IT if they win a title.

    You disgust me.

Yes were in First but its July. We still have the dog days of August and September to get through. Lets hope Pavano comes back, Brown gives up fewer runs than innings pitched, and Leiter has another good 8-10 starts left in him!

Thank you. Thank you so much. I hate people like that. Now Jack, just let the season play out. Remember, tonight is another game. If the Yankees aren't in first tomorrow, don't come on the board and say their season is over. It really is just a waste of time for all of the board members.

This also allows us to have Tino for PH duties, which is a better bat then anything else we have off the bench now, along with Phillips.
