With the departure of FB Richie Anderson to Dallas, the Jets added needed depth in the FB position by drafting Michigan FB B.J. Askew in the third round of Saturdays NFL Draft.
Askew (6-3, 228Lbs) is the second Wolverine in a row selected by the Jets. He is a very versatile back with running, blocking and receiving skills. Last season at Michigan, Askew ran the ball 110 times for 568 yards, and scored six touchdowns on the ground. He also caught 36 passes for 280 yards, and one touchdown. Askew is also a very good special teams player. The next picks for the Jets come tomorrow in the fifth round where they two (#140 from Washington and #153).
