The Jets waived S David Young who has been battling an injured hamstring and replaced him with RB Jonathan Reese who was previously on the Jets practice squad.

Reese originally signed with the Jets as a rookie free agent from Columbia in 2002. He was waived at the end of training camp and re-signed on January 14, 2003 and allocated to NFL Europe’s Amsterdam Admirals. Reese had 39 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown for the Jets this preseason. He has had three stints on the practice squad this season and was last re-signed to on November 11.

Young was a sixth round selection (179th overall) of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2003 NFL Draft. The 6-1, 209-pound safety was waived by the Jaguars at the end of their training camp and had been a member of the Cleveland Browns’ practice before signing with the Jets after John McGraw was injured. Young will likely be given an injury settlement by the team.

John Abraham (groin) did not practice again today and is still listed as doubtful for Sunday. Sam Cowart (knee) practiced and is probable for the Bills. He will play.

Bills QB Drew Bledsoe (Headaches) practiced both Thursday and Friday, is listed as PROBABLE and now the word is that he will likely play on Sunday. Rookie RB Willis McGahee has been getting extensive action in practice and could see his first action of the year as a third down back for the Bills. WR Eric Moulds (groin) was limited in Friday’s practice but is expected to be ready to go on Sunday.

Coach Herman Edwards shot down any rumors that were floating in the media that he has an “out” clause in his contract after this season and could be free to coach another team. When interviewed on WFAN radio last night, Edwards set the record straight. “I have nothing in my contract” Said the Coach. “I’m here, I’m the Jets Coach and I plan on being the Jets coach for a long, long time. I aint going nowhere”
