Jets WR Jonathan Carter, who suffered a knee injury against Buffalo on Sunday has been placed on injured reserve. The Jets replaced Carter on the roster and made some other player moves today.

In other injury news DE John Abraham has already been deemed out for the Steelers and there is speculation that he may also be on IR before the week’s end.

To replace Carter, the team announced the signing of WR Ken-Yon Rambo. The team also signed WR Lawrence Hamilton and waived CB Ray Green who was signed earlier this year after the injury of CB Donnie Abraham. RB Johnathan Reese was also waived from the active roster and re-signed to the practice squad.

Rambo, a three year Vet from Ohio State, spent the 2001 and 2002 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-1, 195-pound receiver totaled 17 receptions for 239 yards (14.1 avg.) with a long grab of 47 yards, averaged 17.4 yards on nine kickoff returns and 2.6 yards on seven punt returns in his two years in Dallas. Rambo was waived by the Cowboys at the end of 2003 training camp.

Hamilton, a 6-2, 204-pound rookie WR Stephen F. Austin University was signed from the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad. He played in the first five games of the 2003 season for the Bengals, making one start, but did not record any statistics. He was waived by the Bengals on October 16 and re-signed to their practice squad the following day, where he had remained until today.

DE John Abraham (groin) is OUT again this week against Pittsburgh. Rather than announce it as he usually would on Wednesday, Coach Edwards announced at his press conference yesterday that Abraham will be shelved on Sunday. Jets Insider has learned there’s a possibility that Abe may be placed on injured reserve before the end of the week. The All-Pro has missed 5 ˝ of the last six weeks with this injury.
