Lynch arrived in NY on Thursday and after extending his stay till Saturday, rumors were floating that the deal the Jet offered him would be signed and he would be staying in Hempstead to participate in the Jets off season conditioning program which begins today. However, Lynch left NY without a contract and according to contacts close to him is deciding between the Jets and Broncos. Lynch confirmed that he has ruled out Seattle and New England as suitors who he visited last week as well.

As in the Antoine Winfield debacle, the stumbling point here may be the wife. Reports say that Lynch’s wife prefers Colorado over NY and also likes the closer proximity of Denver to San Diego, where the Lynch’s have a home. However, Jets fans are hoping that the close relationship that Lynch has with Jets coach Herm Edwards will ultimately lead him to sign with NY. A decision will likely come within the next 24 hours.
