The New York Jets announced today the signing of rookie free agent defensive end Kevin Fales (Iona) and wide receiver Chris Duncan (New Mexico State).

Fales, a native of Croton, New York, was one of the most decorated players in Iona College football history, after being named First-Team All-MAAC, MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, The Sports Network I-AA Mid-Major and I-AA All-America, and American Football Coaches Association I-AA All-America.

The 6-3, 275-pound end was atop the MAAC Football League in numerous defensive statistics after a stellar senior season in 2003. He recorded 80 total tackles, including 38 solo stops. He was tops in the MAAC with a career-high 14.0 sacks for 81 yards and 22.0 tackles for a loss of 100 yards. Fales also led the conference with four forced fumbles and was selected as First Team All-America and a three-time pick on Don Hansen's team. Fales was the MAAC Football League Co-Defensive Player-of-the Year and finished second in the nation with 14 sacks.

Duncan, a 6-2, 200-pound New Mexico State product, is the son of former NFL wide receiver Brian Duncan (Houston Oilers and Cleveland Browns). Duncan began his collegiate career at Texas Tech before transferring to New Mexico State, where he recorded 24 receptions for 324 yards (13.5 avg.) and three scores as a junior and senior.
