On Sunday, June 27th, thousands of people will be "taking the field" at the Meadowlands Sports Complex to help find a cure for lupus in the Second Annual New Jersey Walk with Us to Cure Lupus walkathon benefiting the Alliance for Lupus Research.

The New York Jets are proud to be a sponsor of this Walk, and are inviting you to "Join the Team New York Jets" and be a part of this exciting event.

- Bring your donations to the stadium at 9:00 AM Sunday, June 27th, and pick up your official Jets Walk Team T-shirt (Jets fans must collect or make a $100 donation to the Alliance for Lupus Research to receive their Jets Team T-shirt).

- Join Jets Owner Woody Johnson, Green & White players and alumni, as well as thousands of other walkers on the field at the 50-yard line for the 5K walk through the stadium starting at 10:00 AM. (Photos and autographs opportunities with players and alumni will be available prior to the start of the Walk.)

- Hang out on the field after the Walk and enjoy Jets Fest activities, the entertainment, music from Housewives on Prozac, refreshments, and massages that will be available to all the walkers

The Jets are proud to support the Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) because it is one of this nation's premier voluntary health organizations. Like the Jets, the ALR has a very focused goal: Winning the fight against lupus!

Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which an individual's immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own tissues. These attacks can cause life-threatening damage to major organs such as the kidneys, lungs, heart and central nervous system. Women are much more likely to get lupus than men, and lupus is the leading cause of death among women with autoimmune diseases who are in their childbearing years (15 -45).

One of the major reasons that the Jets are pleased to support the Alliance for Lupus Research is that one hundred percent of the proceeds from the Walk will go where it is needed most - directly toward funding research into the prevention, treatment and cure of lupus.
