Graber, who was hired on January 30th to replace the fired Bill Bradley left the team for personal reasons in May. The exact nature of his departure is not known. Graber joined the Jets following three years as head coach of the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe. He led the Galaxy to a 35-16 World Bowl victory over the Rhein Fire in June. In addition, Graber has served as defensive backs coach for the Chiefs (1983-86), defensive coordinator for the Bucs (1987-89) and head coach of Rutgers (1990-95).

Itís expected that Corwin Brown, the Jets' assistant special teams coach/assistant defensive backs coach, will be named to replace Graber. Brown is a former Jets defensive back who played In the NFL for eight seasons. He was hired this winter by the Jets after being an assistant to former Jets Head Coach Al Groh the past two years at the University of Virginia.

It was also reported today that QB Chad Pennington, who is entering the final year of his contract will negotiate a new deal until the end of August. If an extension is not agreed upon by then, he will end talks until after the season when he will become free agent.
