Despite an 0-3 start and a game coming up against their bitter division rivals that could perennially break their season with a loss, Dolphins DE Jason Taylor is running his mouth and it’s firing up the Jets and their fans.

Taylor, a two time Pro Bowler has had a colorful and somewhat confrontational relationship with the NY fans over the years that had stemmed mostly from the nine game losing streak the ‘Fins recently had against the Jets which finally ended last season. Who can forget Taylor taunting the NY Fans with the Dolphins having a big lead after the first half of the “Monday Night Miracle” game in 2000 then leaving the field crying like a baby after the Jets made one of the most miraculous comebacks in NFL history to win the game.

Miami as in the past is expecting a large showing of Jets fans this weekend at Pro Player Stadium due mostly to the concentration of transplanted NYers in South Florida and the great start that the Jets have had so far this year.

The frustrated Taylor teed off on Jets fans.

“There will be a bunch of them chanting their dumb-ass chant and all that other stuff, being the ignorant fans they are," said Taylor to the media yesterday. "I said it. I don't care if they get mad at me or not. They don't like me anyway. Quite frankly, I don't care.”

On the record, the coaches and players were careful not to give back anything that would motivate the desperate Dolphins. Jets All-Pro Center Kevin Mawae reacted to Taylor’s comments.

”I personally like our fans,” Mawae said. “I think they are pretty good. I think he is showing from frustration from what is going on down there and it’s rightfully so. He has got to vent to somebody, why not our fans? Our fans can take it, we have great fans.”

Jets WR Wayne Chrebet has seen a lot of games. The 10 year veteran knows how it feels to be 0-3 as the Miami Dolphins currently are.

”I have been in that situation many times,” Chrebet said. “When you start off the season bad and you need a win and your back is against the wall, that is a dangerous team to play...We are prepared, we are very prepared. We know it is going to be a tough game, especially with their home crowd being behind them.”

INJURY REPORT: No changes from yesterday.

-LB Sam Cowart (knee): OUT
-LT Jason Fabini (back): Probable
-C Kevin Mawae (hand): Probable

The team will have a walk through tomorrow and then fly to Miami. Check back to Jets Insider.com for all the latest breaking Jets news leading up to their clash with the 'Phins.
