Jets Insider.com has learned that Jets All-Pro RB Curtis Martin will not play in this Sundayís Pro-Bowl due to an undisclosed injury.

Martin, who at 31 won the NFLís rushing title and played the entire season injury free, will be replaced by Cincinnatiís Rudi Johnson. Neither the team nor Martin have disclosed details of the injury, however it likely isnít anything serious. CuMart, joins Jets DE John Abraham (knee) as the second Jets Pro-Bowler to sit out due to injury. C Kevin Mawae will now be the sole representative of Gang Green in Hawaii.

Various media sources are reporting that Jets QB Quincy Carter left the team in December to enter a drug rehabilitation program. It was originally reported that he left the team to tend to his sick mother in Georgia. Since the details of any playerís substance abuse problems are confidential, no details were given out by the team or league.

Carter joined the team on August 24 after he was released by Dallas for reportedly having drug issues. He is due to be a free agent and itís very doubtful that the team is interested in bringing him back especially in light of his latest events.

The Jets have Brooks Bollinger and Ricky Ray backing up starter Chad Pennington but will likely be looking for an experienced veteran to add to the roster before training camp. One player who could be a candidate is Miamiís Jay Fiedler. Fiedler, who is a Long Island native will likely be released by the Dolphins due to salary cap reasons and could be a good fit in the new Jets Mike Heimerdinger offense.

It was reported yesterday that Vikings owner Red McCombs has given permission to shop around WR Randy Moss and the Jets could be a possible suitor. Moss, who played his college ball at Marshall with Jets QB Chad Pennington has said publicly that heíd love to play with his former classmate. Despite Mossí obvious off the field baggage, the main issue here is the price. Some sources report that Minnesota will accept nothing less than 2 first round picks plus an impact player for Moss, a price that is ridiculous. Look for a lot more on this subject coming in the weeks ahead.
