Coming as no real surprise to anyone, ESPN is reporting that Jetsí FA RB LaMont Jordan has agreed in principle to a five year deal with the Oakland Raiders. The Jets earlier today also lost FA DT Jason Ferguson to the Cowboys. Jordanís signing has not been officially announced but the deal according to ESPNís John Clayton is worth $27.5MM with over $15MM guaranteed in the first three years. The deal towers the offer the Jets gave him which was around $3MM per year.

It was a tough first day of free agency for the Jets due to the loss of both Jordan and Ferguson. Ferguson was signed early this morning by former Jets Coach Bill Parcells in Dallas. Fergusonís contract according to ESPN was is five year deal worth $21.5MM with $11.5MM guaranteed in the first two years.

The Jets also lost two big players on their wish list when Bills' FA DT Pat Williams signed with the Vikings and Bills' T Jonas Jennings signed with San Francisco. Williams'deal with Minnesota is reporteldy worth $13MM and Jennings' deal with the Niners is being reported worth $36MM over five years with $12MM in guaranteed bonues.
