The Denver Broncos are confirming that they have matched the offer sheet the Jets signed with restricted free agent TE Jeb Putzier. The Denver Broncos are confirming that they have matched the offer sheet the Jets signed with restricted free agent TE Jeb Putzier.

Putzier, a three year veteran, was signed by the Jets last Friday to a $12.5MM five year offer sheet. With Anthony Becht leaving as a free agent the Jets intended sign Putzier as a replacement.

There are reports that the Broncos may be interested in trading Putzier to the Jets for higher compensation than his 6th round tender price but that is yet to be seen.

The Jets now still have a big void at TE. The Jets tendered a contract to their other TE Chris Baker last month but he has not yet signed. As reported earlier this week, there is talk that the Jets are interested in TE Ken Dilger. Dilger, a ten year veteran was with the Bucs last season where he had 39 catches and 3 TDs.
