The Jets traded for T/G Steve Morley from the Green Bay Packers late Saturday for a future undisclosed draft pick.
Morely (6'7"-332 Lbs), from Canada, is a graduate from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
He was originally an undrafted free agent for the Chiefs in 2003 but had to return to Canada due to the inability to obtain a work visa. He returned to the USA in 2004 and signed with the Packers where he spent time in NFL Europe and then spent the 2004 regular season on the Packers's roster where he was inactive for all games after taking the majority of snaps at left guard in training camp.
Morely was originally the overall first draft choice for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League in 2003 where he ended up playing the left tackle position in 11 games, starting in nine contests for the Stampeders
