Westhoff To Stay With Jets

By Jets Insider.com Staff
January 20th, 2006
Jets Insider.com has learned from a source close to the team that special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff will stay with the Jets.

Westhoff had a meeting with new Jets coach Eric Mangini on Wednesday where he was asked to stay on the staff.

Reportedly he gave Mangini his decison today after considering his options over the past two days.

Westhoff, hired by Herman Edwards, has been with the team since 2003 and joins Bob Sutton (defensive coordinator), Mike Heimerdinger (offensive coordiantor), Corwin Brown (secondary), Markis Paul (strength) and Denny Marcin (defensive line) as coaches that are definitely staying on Mangini's staff.

No official announcement by the team has yet been made.
