Ohio State LB Anthony Schlegel should help the Jets new 3-4 defense.
After swapping third rounders with the Eagles in the beginning of the third round, the Jets bolstered their linebacking corps by selecting Ohio State inside linebacker, Anthony Schlegel.
The Jets traded the # 71 pick to Philly and moved to their spot at #76. For their move, Philadelphia gave the Jets their 7th round pick (#220).
Schlegel (6’0”-250 LBS) was a 2 year starter for the Buckeyes who started his college career at Air Force. He had 82 tackles as a senior and is touted as a hard working defender who is best against the run. He should fit nicely into Eric Mangini’s new Jets’ 3-4 defense.
The Jets have one more selection in the 3rd round (#97) which was a compensatory pick awarded to them by the NFL.
