Michigan State safety Eric Smith adds depth to the Jets' secondary.
With the last pick in round 3 (#97), the Jets added depth to their secondary by selecting Michigan State safety, Eric Smith.

Smith (61-209 LBS), is a four year Spartans starter who as a senior was All Conference. His scouting report touts him as a hard nosed, disciplined, excellent run stopper who needs work on his pass defense skills.

The Jets have four picks remaining when the draft resumes tomorrow. 2 picks in the 4th round (#103 and 117), a pick in the 5th (#138) and one in the 7th (220).
