In a move that virtually guarantees the end of Brooks Bollinger in NY, the Jets extended the contract of QB Patrick Ramsey according to the Daily News.
Ramsey who is in the last year of his contract that he originally signed with Washington, reportedly got a one year extension worth $2.1MM. He also was paid $250K this yearís non-guaranteed salary of $1.7MM as a roster bonus paid at the end of last month.
The Jets seem to have confidence in Ramsey who they traded for this off-season for a sixth round pick despite having a less than impressive minicamp in June. Unless Ramsey chokes in camp this summer, he will likely join Chad Pennington and rookie Kellen Clemens on the final roster to start the season. The team is still unsure if Pennington will be ready go when the Jets open in Tennessee due to his recovery from off-season shoulder surgery. Clemens has also been talked about as a dark horse to start after two impressive minicamps this spring.
The odd man out seems to be Brooks Bollinger who will likely be cut during training camp.
The Jets begin training camp on July 28.
