Jets Make Roster Moves, Also Announce Practice Squad

The Jets announced they have signed TE Zach Hilton (New Orleans) and DL Rashad Moore (Oakland) off waivers and have released WR Wallace Wright and DT Titus Adams to make room on the roster.

Hilton, 6-8, 268, is entering his fourth season in the NFL out of the University of North Carolina. Last season, the former Saintsí undrafted free agent, gained 396 yards on 35 receptions with one touchdown.

Moore, 6-3, 325, a former sixth-round selection by Seattle, is entering his third season in the NFL. In 2004, Moore notched career-highs in tackles with 46, sacks with two and fumble recoveries with three.

Wright, who was a surprise to make the final roster yesterday was originally signed as an undrafted free agent from North Carolina. Adams was a seventh round draft pick of the Jets in this year's draft out of Nebraska.

The team also announced they have signed the following players to the practice squad:

S Jamie Thompson.

Thomas was claimed by the Jets off waivers from Tennessee on July 31st. Last season, he appeared in one game for the Titans, recording two special teams tackles.

Ridgeway was originally a sixth-round selection of St. Louis. Now in his second season, he was claimed off waivers by the Jets after last seasonís roster cut-downs. In seven games for the Jets, Ridgeway had two receptions for 26 yards and two special teams tackles.

Kowalewski, an undrafted free agent, is entering his rookie season out of the University of Syracuse. After switching from defensive end early in his college career, Kowalewski totaled 33 receptions for 441 yards.

Snell spent last season with the Jets but did not play in the two games he was listed as active.

Blanton, an undrafted free agent out of UCLA, started the Jets preseason finale at right tackle.

Tutt, a former quarterback out of the University of Richmond, saw time in all four preseason contests, gaining six yards on one reception.

McChesney, originally an undrafted free agent by St. Louis, was signed to the Jetsí practice squad last season and saw action in three contests, recording three solo tackles.

Thompson was an undrafted free agent by the Jets out of Oklahoma State. He started the final game of the preseason, recording two tackles in the contest.
