After it was reported last week that the Jets interviewed Dolphins assistant coach Dan Quinn, sources confirm that he’s been hired as defensive line coach, replacing Denny Marcin.
Quinn, who had one year left on his Dolphins deal was released by new Coach Cam Cameron. He held the same position for Miami under Nick Saban for the past two seasons where this year DE Jason Taylor was named defensive player of the year.
The future of Marcin is unclear. He was originally hired by Herman Edwards in 2004 after spending seven years as the Giants defensive line coach. He’s reportedly still under contract but may be given a new job within the organization or retire.
