To no one's surprise, the Jets officially released veteran QB Patrick Ramsey today.
As reported by JI on Wednseday the team will save $2MM by letting Ramsey go. He was slated to collect a $1.4MM roster bonus tomorrow and had a base salary of $600K for this upcoming season.
The team will likely add another emergency veteran QB at a much cheaper price before camp starts and will be monitoring the waiver wire for candidates.
Surprisingly, DT Kimo Von Oelhoffen is still on the roster. It was speculated that he would be released as well due to his $2.4MM total cap number for this season. Word is that the Jets front office is looking to restructure that number. If not, it's possible he still could be let go by tomorrow. His agent has told the media that Von Oelhoffen will remain a Jet in 2007.
