Two prominent veteran Jets players will start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform List (PUP) as announced by the team today.
LB Matt Chatham who has been limited all off-season with an undisclosed injury and WR Tim Dwight, who is still nursing a foot injury fron last season will not start practicing until further notice.
Dwight started two games last year and finished with 16 catches for 112 yards before being injured. Chatham, who had no starts and was brought in for veteran depth and special teams last season from New England, had 34 tackles. It's possible that both players could be in jeopardy of being released if they can't get on the practice field in the near future.
The team also made a few roster moves by signing rookie FA C Joseph Villani (Pitt) and releasing rookie FA's, S Leonard Peters (Hawaii) and G Dominic Moran (Western Michigan).
Players report to Hofstra on Thursday and training camp officially kicks off on Friday at 8:30AM.
