The second biggest question on Sunday besides how bad the Jets played was where was Fireman Ed Anzalone?
After tons of mesagboard rumors and this site being inundated with e-mail over the past few days as to where the Jets top cheerleader was on Sunday...JI spoke to Fireman Ed Anzalone today to get the accurate scoop.
Fireman Ed is on injured reserve until further notice after going through knee surgery last week from a job related injury.
On a telephone conversation early Tuesday, Anzalone admitted the timing was bad but it was something that had to be done now.
”There was damage to the ACL and meniscus and it had to be taken care of immediately,” said Anzalone. “I expect to be out at least 4-6 weeks but will be back to the stadium as soon as the knee feels comfortable. Obviously the setting at the stadium at gameday could be dangerous for this type of injury.”
In the meantime he is giving his tickets to friends and hopes that a few fans in the stadium will pick up the slack while he’s gone.
As a tribute to this superfan, we will add Fireman Ed to our daily Jets injury report to keep you up to date with his progress.
