Third year CB Justin Miller who was looking to finally have a break out year, was placed on the injured reserve list today, ending his season.
Miller, who made the Pro Bowl last season as a kick returner and who was the only Jets player selected officially was put on the shelf this afternoon.
Despite rumors that he re-aggrivated a hamstring injury that he was nursing for most of training camp, Jets Insider.com has learned that he injured his knee against the Ravens on Sunday. Whether surgery is in his future is not yet known.
The move puts even more pressure on rookie first round pick CB Darrelle Revis who will need to step up to compensate the loss of Miller.
No roster replacement has yet been announced.
In other minor housekeeping news, the Jets released OL Jason Capizzi from the practice sqauad.
The team returns to the practice field tomorrow to begin preparation for the Dolphins at home on Sunday.
