The Jets announced late today that they have released DE Eric Hicks and T Adrian Jones.

Hicks (6-6, 280, Maryland), a 10-year veteran, was signed as an unrestricted free agent (KC) on May 22. He appeared in 11 games this season, recording 23 tackles with eight solos. He was named the Jets Practice Player of the Week after the Dec. 2 win at Miami.

Jones (6-5, 296, Kansas), a fourth-round selection (132nd overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft, appeared in seven games this season. He appeared in 44 games during his Jets career, recording 16 starts, three at right tackle, 13 at left tackle.

No roster replacement announcements were made. However, the team will likely bring a few young players from their practice squad or other team's practice squads to evaluate the final two games of the year.
