As many speculated this week, a nagging ankle injury that has been plaguing Jets WR Laveranues Coles for the last several weeks, ended his season today as the team placed him on the injured reserve list.
Coles had missed three games due concussion and the ankle injury including last week's loss to New England. He had reportedly been making progress healing until he had a mishap with a collapsed trainers table last week which worsened the injury. Coles finishes the season with 55 receptions for 646 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games played. To replace Coles on the roster, the Jets added punter Jeremy Kapinos from the practice squad who will be pressing veteran Ben Graham for time this year and possibly the job next season. |
