The Jets announced this afternoon that disgruntled veteran TE Chris Baker will start training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, meaning he will not be participating in camp until the team activates him.
Baker, sat out the last two practices of the team's June minicamp due to a supposed back injury. However, since he’s publicly lambasted the front office all off-season due to his current contract situation, it’s more likely this is the reason he’s on the PUP rather than causing a team distraction. What Baker’s long term status is unknown at this point. Check back often for more on this breaking story.
The team also announced that LB Jason Trusnik has also been placed on the PUP due to an injury and that T Clint Oldenburg has been placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list.
