After a very poor start including an awful performance against division rival New England on Sunday the Jets released punter Ben Graham this evening.
The four year veteran, who signed as a free agent in 2005 after a long career in Aussie Football leaves after starting 49 games for the Jets averaging 43.7 yards on 222 punts. His demise came on Sunday where he only averaged 27 net yards per punt and gave the Pats excellent field position on several occassions.
No replacement was named, but sources say that the team tried out several candidates today and a new punter will be named as early as tomorrow.
Also, in a minor move, the team also announced they have released WR Paul Raymond from the practice squad.
