Confirming reports that have been surfacing all week, the Jets roster gutting continued today as they officially released veteran Guard Brandon Moore.
The move was announced by the Jets late this afternoon and saves the Jets another $7.5MM on this year's salary cap, a figure that was due to Moore via a roster bonus on March 1st.
After parting ways with Laveranues Coles yesterday, the team now has glaring holes at WR and on the offensive line. The Jets are reportedly high on youngster offensive linemen Wayne Hunter and Robert Turner who could fill in for Moore, but more likely the team will try to sign a free agent who can fill in. The first name that comes to mind is a player Head Coach Rex Ryan is familar with, the Ravens' Jason Brown who will likely become a FA come midnight.
Moore is now free to sign with any team and will be very sought after starting at midnight.
