The Jets locked up one of their three draft choices from last month by signing 6th round pick OL Matt Slauson from Nebraska.
The 6'5" 340 LB Slauson was the 193rd pick in last month's draft and the Jets hope he will bring needed depth to the offensive line.
The team also announced they have released CB Tyorne Brackenridge.
Also, late today a bit of good news as RB Thomas Jones' agent Drew Rosenhaus announced via Twitter that the veteran RB would be attending OTA's starting next week. Jones, along with fellow RB Leon Washington have been MIA as both are unhappy with their current contracts. Reports surfaced yesterday that Washington's agent Alvin Keels has been meeting with team officials week working on a new deal for the multi-talented back so Leon could be back soon as well.
Rookie QB Mark Sanchez joined OTA's yesterday after finishing up all of his college obligations at USC. Practice will be open to the media on Thursday. Don't expect Sanchez's contract to be completed until at least mid July.
