The Jets announced today they have signed the last of their small 2009 draft pool by inking third round RB Shonn Green of Iowa.
Details of Greene's contract were not available but it's believed to be a five year deal.
Although we don't have the statistics handy it's the earliest that we can remember all draft picks have been signed, with over 5 weeks left before training camp starts.
Now the speculation turns to rumors that the team has a keen interest in signing former Giants WR Plaxico Burress. ESPN reported earlier today that the team is very hot for the talented yet troubled wideout and it's likely that his legal issues won't hit the courts until after the 2009 season. On the homefront in NY, conflicting reports from more than one local beat writer say that the Jets' interest Burress has waned.
Posturing? Perhaps. However, lets not forget all the conflicting reports that came out last year when rumors started that the team was interested in Brett Favre. Expect the story here to change as often as the weather.
The team also announced the singing of undrafted free agent LB Brock Christopher of Missouri. Christopher spend some time on Atlanta's roster before being waived on June 3rd.
