With a dire hole at the kick returner position after the loss of Leon Washington on Sunday, the team re-signed former Jets CB/KR Justin Miller who has been out of the NFL since being released from Oakland earlier this month.
Miller made the Pro Bowl in 2006 as a kick returner for the Jets but was hampered by injuries in 2007 and 2008 and was released last season. He was then claimed by the Raiders where he spent the rest of last season. This year, he was released during Raiders final camp cuts on September 5 then re-signed on September 30th and then subsequently cut again on October 7.
The former 2nd round pick of the Jets in 2005 will immediately take over kickoff duties for Washington who was put on injured reserve today after breaking his leg against the Raiders on Sunday. He will likely also be used at DB during certain coverage packages on defense as well.
