The brand new Hope Lake Lodge at Greek Peak Mountain resort is a majestic site only 10 minutes from SUNY Cortland.
Warmth. That’s probably the last adjective which would normally come to mind when describing a ski lodge. However, when it comes to the recently opened Greek Peak Hope Lake Lodge in Cortland, New York, it is only fitting. The JetsInsider.com staff was lucky enough to be guests of the lodge recently while covering training camp and the experience was nothing short of top notch.
Perched up on Greek Peak Mountain, a short 10 minute drive from the SUNY Cortland campus and overlooking the elegant woodland thicket of upstate New York, the Greek Peak Mountain Resort sits on a metaphorical majestical throne. The wondrous five-story lodge is truly a pleasing sight to the eye and an even more enjoyable destination for incoming guests.
From the minute you enter the lobby of the Hope Lake Lodge, you are greeted with that signature warmth. From the rustic, woodland décor to the buck and moose heads mounted on the walls to the friendly service of the staff, it all comes together for an enjoyable vacation experience.
In the main lobby, guests are presented with the Acorn Grill, a casual yet sophisticated dining area for families and the general public. The Acorn Grill features yields an extensive and unique menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Intriguing options include the Maple Nut Salmon, Fire Pit BBQ Pork, and the Acorn Big Dipper sandwich.
Upon being seated for lunch, the service was found to be attentive and comfortable. Both dishes, the Hail Caesar salad and Angus cheeseburger, were brought out less than fifteen minutes upon ordering. The Angus burger was juicy and flavorful, served on a toasted ciabatta roll, while the Caesar included a plentiful amount of thick, moist chicken breast.

Some of the JI staff had their families up during camp and by far the biggest hit with the kids was Greek Peak’s main family attraction, is its ostentatious, 41,000-square foot Cascades Indoor Water Park. The beautiful facility features a three-story tube slide, activity pool, multiple hot tubs and wading pools for the younger kids.
Another cool feature of the water park is the heated outdoor pool, which Greek Peak keeps open year round for winter skiers and summer sun bathers alike.
