Jets make roster moves, cut veterans T-Rich and Clowney. Ryan flies to Florida to meet Revis. |

In a surprise move, the Jets released 15 year veteran FB Tony Richardson, the most respected offensive team leader. Along with Richardson the team also released WR David Clowney and RB Chauncey Washington. Filling their roster spots, the Jets picked up on waivers Dolphins WR Patrick Turner who played college ball with Mark Sanchez at USC, Cowboys DT Marcus Dixon and Vikings OT Patrick Brown. The move releasing Richardson is even more puzzling after he was praised by both Head Coach Rex Ryan and GM Mike Tannebaum during last week's episode of Hard Knocks. Cutting T-Rich leaves only rookie FB John Connor as blocking back. Also, according to multiple sources, Coach Ryan flew to South Florida this weekend to personally meet with holdout CB Darrelle Revis. With no apparent movement in negotiations, Ryan apparently felt a face to face may get things moving again. No reports have surfaced as to how the meeting went but you have to believe that the Coach is getting increasingly antsy to have his star player back with the Ravens a week away.
