After years of lingering in injuries, Jets C Kevin Mawae is finally pain free
HEMPSTEAD N.Y. - Despite being one of the top offensive linemen in the NFL for the last half-decade and one of the most vocal senior members of the team, Jets All-Pro center Kevin Mawae has been playing with pain. Minor surgery last off-season hindered his training and practice regiment and resulted in a slow start in 2002. Now, for the first time in years Mawae has had a pain free off-season and is in the best shape of his career. We had a chance to speak with him recently at the close of the Jets' Organized Team Activites and he spoke candidly about the state of the offensive line and the team as a whole. COMING SOON: A chat with the Jets new starting fullback, Jerald Sowell.
