Saints 22 - Jets 17

Despite a few flashes of greatness from QB Chad Pennington and WR's Santana Moss and Curtis Conway, the Jets as a team overall looked flat. The Jets running game was non existent and the whole team only gained 57 yards on 29 carries running the ball. Bonehead penalties (nine in all) also gave the Saints several scoring opportunities. Furthermore, the state of the depth on the offensive line is so bleak that Coach Edwards didn't even play backup QB Vinny Testaverde in fear of him getting mauled.

On the injury front, LB Marvin Jones was reported having strained his hamstring. The seriousness of the injury is not yet known.

The Jets will go back to the drawing board this week to prepare for their annual pre-season game against the Giants next Saturday at the Meadowlands.
