The Jets announced thier first set of final cuts by releasing 10 players earier today. The team also announced the signing of a free agent defensive back.
The Jets announced Saturday afternoon that they have signed free agent defensive back Jacoby Shepherd
Shepherd, a 6-2, 204-pound defensive back is a third year player out of Oklahoma State University. The Lufkin, Texas native was formerly a second round draft choice of the St. Louis Rams in 2000, and has played in 22 career games with one start, registering 17 tackles, one interception and two passes defensed. Shepherd signed with Green Bay as a free agent on January 1, 2003 and was waived by the Packers on August 26.
The Jets also waived 10 players earler today (see below) and need to release ten more by 4PM tomorrow to get to the 53 man mandatory roster limit.
