Needing to trim the roster by nine players by 4PM today, the Jets announced another cut by releasing CB Andrew Davison.
Needing to trim the roster by nine today the Jets started the day by releasing second year CB Andrew Davison. Davison made the team last year as an undrafted free agent and played in six games. He registered five tackles on defense ad six tackles on special teams in 2002.
Davsion had been hampered all training camp with a sprained ankle and was given an injury settlement. The signing yesterday of CB Jacoby Shepard who is bigger and good on special teams made Davison expendable. The Jets won’t announce the remaining cuts until after today’s practice which ends at 3:20 PM.
Chad Pennington was at the complex this morning and was upbeat and optimistic for a quick return. He will address the media at a 3:30 press conference later today.
