    Where's Cannizzaro?

Saw no articles from him in the Post today and nothing here. Did he get shipped to KC with Herm?

    Haven't you heard TIOY?

Cannizzaro Suffers Concussion from Tice Tussle on Buffet Line
    - by Rich Cimini

In an obvious attempt to make up for not cooperating with the media, the Jets hosted a buffet for reporters and team officials after the announcement of naming Eric Mangini to the NY Jets head coaching position. The post party
soon turned into a wild melee between ex Vikings Coach Mike Tice and NY Post writer Mark Canizzaro. Tice was invited to stay for the festivities after his interview for the Jets job before flying back to his home in Minnesota.

The fracas was initiated over Cannizzaro's attempt to get a quote from Coach Tice about his future plans in the NFL while Tice was engaged in a beer "Chug-a-lug" contest at the rolling bar with NY Jet alumni greats Marvin Jones & Mo Lewis. When Cannizzaro pushed for the sound byte like a prosecuting attorney at a conspiracy trial, Tice, irritated by the questioning and not wanting to waste a perfectly good beer on a pencil jockey, first emptied his mug then swung the glass connecting with Cannizzaro's forehead.

Emergency service workers on the scene had to utilize the jaws of life to extract the mug from Cannizzaro's cranium while the entire NY Jets F.O. personnel, team and press junket looked on in astonishment. When Cannizzaro was asked for a quote on the whole mishap, he would only say that the Jets would be hearing from his attorney but the blue claw crab legs & prawns were excellent.

NY Jets Executive VP and GM Terry Bradway was on hand and witnessed the whole incident. When asked for his comments on the matter, Bradway stated he was "disappointed in Coach Tice's actions" but "Cannizzaro was a wuss for not blocking the shot with the serving tray full of cocktail weenies he was grazing on."

The NFL issued a statement saying that no formal charges would be filed against Coach Tice due to the fact that they don't like Cannizzaro's beat reporting on the Jets either. However, in an unprecedented move, the NFL will allow Kansas City Chief's GM Carl Peterson and newly named HC Herman Edwards permission to speak with Cannizzaro about covering all of the KC Chiefs and Coach Edward's press conferences during the 2006 season.

Cannizzaro was on NFL radio at least twice yesterday. Had a lot a good things to say along with Kirwin and Randy Cross. I don't think anyone on the NFL radio had anything negative to say about the hire.

The one thing that Mark did say is that the Jets do not seem willing to give anyone a contract that a top pick would get. Said they may even try to trade down to pick up multiple first round picks. I do not know if he was referring to this draft or in future drafts but its worth keeping an eye out.

If you look at all the great players that get plucked out of the late first round than it makes sense. Get a good player that may have as good ar better impact on the team fo rmuch less.

I think that if you look at the Pats lineup, the only guy really getting paid is Brady. I think the Jets will emulate that by having a team of role players and not that many superstars.

He was on the radio overnight, probably WFAN but maybe ESPN. Says he likes Mangini, and that Jets may not be able to afford to keep the #4 pick, unless they take D'Brick. Expects them to trade down.

And he would know this how? Sorry, but now that deep Jet Hermy is out the door, Cannizero will be getting his information on the Jets just like you and me. From ESPN.
