All Time favorite players (offensive squad)

I was thinking of a line up of my favorite players. Guys who were a bit bigger than the game itself. Not exactly the best guy to ever play their positon, more like the guys I would want on a true fantasy team. Players who could play on any stage, and leave the other team frustrated and defeated.

The format is a starter (S) and back up (BU) for each position.

QB S-Warren Moon BU- Steve Young

RB S-Eric Dickerson BU- Terrell Davis

    FB S-Daryl Johnston BU-Mike Alstott

    C S-Kevin Mawae (yeah baby) BU-Jeff Bostic

G S-Larry Little BU- Conrad Dobler

    G S-Larry Allen BU-Steve Hutchinson

    T S-Anthony Munoz BU-Jakie Slayter

    T S-Art Shell BU-Dan Dierdorf

TE S-Mark Bavaro BU- Mike Ditka

WR S-Steve Largent BU- Lynn Swann

WR S-Sterling Sharpe BU- Terrell Owens

Anyone else have a group of fav's?

QB - 2002 Chad Pennington - I loved the way he played the game: All heart and intelligence.

RB - Barry Sanders - Most entertaining RB ever.

FB - Mark Edwards - Ever since I watched him play at ND.

WR - Randy Moss - The most talented player in NFL.

WR - Wayne Chrebet - The least talented player in the NFL.

TE - John Mackey - Watched old NFL films with my dad and this guy could not be tackled.

T - Willie Roaf - Backbone of the best o-line in football.

T - Jumbo Elliot - Great catch in the monday night miracle.

G - Will Shields - Gets to the LB's so quick.

    G - Larry Allen - A monster.

C - Kevin Mawae - "I hold all the time"

    QBs - Ken O'Brien (laughable, I know)
    - Chadwick Pennington
    WRs - Wesley Walker
    - TOOOOOOOOOOON
    - Chrebet
    RBS - Freeman McNeil
    - CuMar
    - Hector
TE - Mickey Shuler - was my original name here before I had Sooth chang it to BergenJet
    O-Line - Kevin Mawae
    Marvin Powell
    Joe Fields
    Jumbo Elliot

In other words, if they weren't on the Jets they could never be on my favorite players list. Don't get me wrong, I love watching lots of players play the game, but I can't really be a fan of somebody who doesn't play for my team.

I thought about it, but I think Sweetness and Barry did more with less.

here's a list with more recent players that I got to see a lot of.

    QB Favre (gotta love him)
FB Alstott (take the "A" Train")
    HB Sanders (amazing to watch)
    TE Gonzalez (hispanic representing)
WR Chrebet (little engine that could)
WR Coles (loved him a few years back)
WR Moss (when he's not being a moron he's really exciting to watch)

this is not an all-star team just guys i like

Players that aren't coming up very much here are guys like Jerry Rice Emmit Smith Payton Manning Dan Marino..... very interesting. The spirit of this thread is players who you connected with, not just the guys with the best stats.

I also find it interesting how some members only pick Jet players. My favorite player of all time is Wayne Chrebet but he didn't make my list (go figure).

    My favorite Jets are

QB Ken O'brien (because I grew up watching him and he was the face of the Jets IMO)

RB Lamont Jordan. (I always loved how this guy played, and I had a custom #34 Jordan jersey made his rookie year. I told anyone that would listen that Moss Jordan and Pennington would be bigger than the triplets from Dallas. Guess i was wrong)

FB Richie Anderson (real Parcells guy)

WR Toon, Maynard, Chrebet Coles (4 great generations of wideouts, pure heart, all four.)

Yea me too, he's one of those players that you thank God is on your team because if he wasn't, you'd hate his guts.

He reminds of Rodney Harrison. Both are honest about what they do and while I hate Rodney Harrison because he's on the patriots, there is still a small part of that respects him.
