    Ricky Williams...Innocent?

    from PFW - http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW...ispers2101.htm

Why did the news that RB Ricky Williams had reportedly failed a drug test emanate from Denver? We hear it’s because the Broncos had requested information on Williams’ status in the NFL’s substance-abuse program from the league as a prelude to a trade with the Dolphins. Word is Williams’ appeal will be upheld since the substance he tested positive for was an herb, not a drug. However, the Dolphins are ticked off since the suspension scare likely lowers Williams’ trade value.

i paid more attention to that paragraph on the jets
Word is a lot of Jets scouts are upset at the way ex-GM Terry Bradway was treated. We hear they believe he was made to be a scapegoat in the power play by head coach Eric Mangini and new GM Mike Tannenbaum. There is also a lack of respect for Tannenbaum’s ability as a personnel evaluator.

    Guys,

I don't know if any of this stuff is true. It could be. PFT has been correct on several occasions, but I'll say this. What was the last positive story reported by PFT on the Jets?

In fact, what was the last positive story reported by PFT?

Tannenbaum has yet to sign any free agents or conduct a draft. Until he does so, people will continue to question his abilities as a personnel man.

Realistically, Tanny has time, because it takes years to properly evaluate a draft. I also think our cap limits our ability to make a splash in FA. His signings will most likely be small.

Are those the same Jets scouts that had Robertson at #2 overall on the Jets draft board?

He paid the price already for his drug use; if he is not guilty, then they rushed to judge and they should pay the price.
