He may not have been a perfect human being, but he was one great baseball player in his prime. I will send my prayers to his family.

    RIP

I loved watching play when I was growing up. Excellent hitter and good all around player.

I was reading a quote from Tony Oliva, a former Twin and good friend of Puckett's, and he said yesterday that Puckett had gotten HUGE and was getting bigger every time that Oliva saw him.

Damn, the guy had some serious personal problems but

wtf ...you gotta wonder if the stroke, glaucoma were preexisting brain

problems that contributed to his erratic behavior...not trying

to give him a pass just wondering?...Anyway on the field it is always good

to see short fat guys excel.

Very sad to hear, but I don't think he would be considered one of the good guys

Really sad...I remember the news conference he gave after his eye surgery telling everyone he had to retire- thanking the press and the fans for everything...he also was the commentator at teh Little League world series for years...

I have not followed up but what were his personnel problems and his "dark side" that the news kept refering to?? (I got the idea he beat his wife)....
