The Pats might not have 2 rings if it wasn't for AV, I mean paying 3.1 MM for a kicker is one thing but saying he isn't a big loss is just spitting in his face.

    I totally agree Ickey.

AV was tremendous for the last 5 years.

But guess what, that is all in the past.

I am very grateful for everything he has done in a Pats uniform, but no way in hell do you pay a friggn' kicker $3.1 mil per year.

Nah, maybe the Pats will waste a 2nd round draft pick on a kicker.

With the 51st pick of the NFL draft the Pats select-Connor Hughes-PK U of Va.

That would be the greatest thing.

You have to be kidding me!! Bill Bellyache made him your franchise player last year. Don't worry though, the Redskins cut John Hall, so he may end up with the Patsies in '06.

I wouldn't exactly say they "wasted" a 2nd rounder considering they had two and still got Miller.........the guy everyone and their brother predicted the Jets would get. The fact is they needed a kicker and got the best one available in the draft. They made the move then because we all know the Vikings wanted him and he wouldn't be around for our second, 2nd-round choice.

    Stop the BS.

Oh and by the way, you damn well better pay 3.1 for your team's MVP the last 5 years. Especially when A. the pats franchised him last year and B. The salary cap just went up 7.5 million.

Bill Belichick should thank his lucky stars Parcells signed this guy oh so many years ago. But, then again he should be thanking him for his 3 super bowls too. But, I digress............

Pats play a ton of close games, it's the way they play football ... even at their peak they rarely blew teams out ... so a reliable PK has been especially crucial towards their success, that's why AV was franchised twice

Now they findout how the other half lives when they have some hump kicker who goes WIDE RIGHT as a habit with the game on the line
