schlegel remind me of tedy bruschi

anthony schlegel reminds me of tedy bruschi.he has the same demeanor.hard nosed instinctive, and a great position player with great ability to read offenses.to me that counts more then pure speed.calling the defensive signals is his forte.

The comparisons were inevitable, every white LB the Jets acquire are either the next Bruschi or Vrabel

WE can only hope. What I will say is that these guys have a system and they are trying to find pieces. Hell we have nothing to lose at this point. I thought they could have made some better picks late but what the hell do I know??

I'd prefer a Butkus or Nitchske. Or "The Animal", Mike Curtis.

    Man I wanted Kai Parham.

Hes another one from a great school, with great intagnibles and production. And obviously he is rated higher then Schelegal everywere.

I guess its the boar hunting that made us like Schlegal.

To be honest, all three of those ohio state Lb's are Badd a$$'s.

All with Pat Tillman hair, cowboys, old school football players.

Dont get me wrong, I like the pick, I love the players were going after. Its just where we drafted Smith, and Schelegal thats bothering me.

i hope you guys are right about this guy. because we passed on calhoun and gocong to get him. our d-line is in trouble imo. we need a nose, an end, and an olb on defense. how does schlegel transition to olb if anyone has seen him play (come to think of it i have seen him play but was focusing on hawk and carpenter)?

He's a fleet footed 4.86/40 man. An old-style, thick bodied LB. He won't be doing any Zach Thomas or Brian Urlacher impersonations. A 1st and 2nd down role player.

I don't have much hope for the safety, but the ILB may surprise.

For what it's worth - NFL.com, has Schelegal rated higher than Parham...
    5.8 to 5.0... Carpenter had a 5.9 rating...
