Thread: Who is the one guy you wish we could have got in the draft?

Who is the one guy you wish we could have got in the draft?

For me, it was Brian Calhoun in the 3rd. The guy ran a 4.35. I wish we picked him up instead of Washington in the 4th.

Reggie Bush was just a perfect fit in NY.

HM: Jay Cutler, though I like Clemens.

Deangelo Williams was 2 picks away from being a Jet....I could almost smell it and couldn't believe he was there as picks 25, 26, 27 came up. Willams at 29 would have had us pickup the 2nd or 3rd best C later in the draft.

i'm another vote for Brian Calhoun. I was upset when the Jets traded the pick but i said to my uncle, Ok we're looking at Gocong and Calhoun now. Both came off of the board in a hurry.

Max Jean-Gilles... we had him last pick day 1, although, this kid E.Smith looks good, we could have waited on him and scooped up MJG in that spot, could you imagine that o-line in the future! I also had a feeling we were going to get Gocong, that trade with Philly was a hard shot to take, to say the least, then later in the draft after we missed out on Gocong, I was really pulling to get Elvis Dumervil. Oh well, not that I'm dissapointed but I hope Tanginni knew what they were doing.

Realistically speaking...Max Jean Gilles. There is no doubt in my mind this guy is a future Pro Bowler, barring his weight issues, which I think any good team like the Eagles will keep in check. We had a chance of drafting the best OT, C, and OG in the draft. 2 out of 3 ain't bad but this is the guy I was screaming for in the 3rd and 4th. I'm still a bit ticked we didn't take him.

Lendale White, it would have been nice to possibly take a chance on getting a steal in the second round. But I like all our moves and think we had an awesome draft. D'Brick, Mangold, Clemens and a second rounder, add a couple of sweet pieces on the second day and we have the makings of quite an offseason. Its gonna look mighty fine around here mighty soon.

With how close DeAngelo was to falling to 29, you had to give up a 4th rounder to trade up and get him IMO.

But Mangold is a nice consolation prize.

    OT/G Winston Justice,
    RB De Angelo Williams,
    RB Maurice Drew UCLA
S Darnell Bing, KO Simpson if we were drafting safety
Jeremy Bloom if we were going to draft an athlete instead of Brad Smith. Bloom would had carried the Cherbet torch nicely.

GMax Jean, DT Gabe Watson Because they fell so much.
I guess I understand they don't fit the team player mode but to get them with such low picks would had made the whole draft look strong from the core.

Imagine our first 5 pics being
    1) Brick
    2) Mangold
    3) Clemens
    4) Gabe Watson
    5) Max Jean Giles

I agree, saw him get 5 TDs vs. Illinois last year and he looked like a faster version of Lamont Jordan

    Same as many others....

Jean Gilles... would have been a slam-dunk.

Well, Stagman, I think landel whirte is still available. Unfortunately, he has just been hired at Burger King in Buffalo to handle the French Fry bin. And he's never seen a football before....
