Which QB Bites the Dust and Gets Cut?

Simple Question, who is the odd man out?

    Chad is signed thru 2007.

Ramsey is now signed thru 2007.

Bolly is a FA after 2006.

Clemens is unsigned, but will likely sign a 4-6 year deal before the season Starts.

I think Bollinger. Thanks for taking a beating last year but Clemens is here to develop into the starter, Ramsey was just extented and Chad isn't going anywhere.

I voted we carry 4 but Brad Smith never takes a snap that is not a gimmick play.

All four of our QBs have value right now. Bollinger would be the most likely cut but why bother doing that?

    1. We could need him at some point.
    2. He proved he can be a suitable backup in the NFL.
    3. Once training camps start .... so will injuries to our players and plenty of others from other teams.

I'd rather trade Bollinger to a team who's main backup QB gets hurt (or even their 3rd QB) for say a 5th rounder rather then just release him outright. He has value around the league right now. You don't just "release" a guy with value unless it is for financial reasons. Brooks' financials are not an issue.

I'm going with the 4 QB option. At least until the last cut and the team knows if Chad is a real option to finish the year.

Chad might be PUP, which will make it easier for decisionmakers.

If one of them gets cut, we all know it will be Bollinger. That is an if though... As one of the previous posters said, you don't cut value for no reason, and Bollnger does have value. But then again, didn't Joey Harrington go for like a 6th rounder, same with Patrick Ramsey?? BUt then again, Bollinger looked better than Harrington last year.

    I dunno.

    It's called logic guys.....

    - We just invested a 2nd round pick in Clemens.

    - We just restructured Chad's contract so he could stay

    - We just gave Ramsey an extension and a bonus

Gee, I wonder who it will be.....

Ramseys deal is nothing more then 250k added this year and a nice sign bonus next year. We could cut him and it would not hurt a bit. I think Bolly has more to offer and he is cheaper.

If he has more to offer, and is cheaper, why wasn't HE extended? After all, if he is cheaper, extending him for 2007 would cost less than even the small amount Ramsey got.

So explain to us why Ramsey was extended, but Bollinger (a Free Agent after this season) was not.

    Other

We trade one toward the end of training camp after so other team has the inevitable pre-season QB injury and needs QB depth.

We may just have restructured Ramseys contract because of lack of confidence in Chads arm.... hence.... Chad goes on IR, and gets cut next offseason.... Ramsey starts the season as starter, Clemens finishes the season as starter, and Bolly remains #3.

It's either we carry 4, or Bollinger gets cut. Simple.

Fish, now i see what you were talking about in the other thread.

There's only 1 guy on that list that does not have the skills to be an effective NFL QB. Not too hard to figure out which one it is.
