    We Will Carry 4 QBs!

    Just going on record with this. The only way we don't carry 4 QBs on our opening day roster is if Ramsey or Bollinger is traded. If no trade goes down, none of our 4 QBs is just getting cut outright.

    What would any team give up for Brooks?

    It was speculated in several publications last season that if Brooks Bollinger were to be released from the Jets, that the Denver Broncos would be interested. Shannahan's offense favors RB's and QB's that can scramble. If Bollinger isn't "forced" to make plays, then he is a "sufficient" back-up. Without a running game, he's not too good...as we all know. Although he did start to make plays towards the end of the season.

    ~ There is NO WAY IN HELL that the Jets carry 4 QB's on the roster! I think there MIGHT BE "other areas" in need of depth where that roster spot can be better utilized.........

    The QB's on the 2006 Final Roster will be;

    Starter- Chad Pennington
    2nd String- Patrick Ramsey
    3rd String- Kellen Clemens

    ~ Clemens is the future of the Jets, but Chad is more "game tested" and Ramsey is healthy. I wouldn't risk putting Clemens behind a young/inexperienced offensive line, especially this year! Let the "others" take the beating.

    I serioulsy believe that we will. I could absolutely be wrong; I'm no prophet and I know that it is both unrealistic and uncanny but I'm going on record since I believe it.

    I have my reasons.

    I see no reason, barring catastophic bad performance by Ramsey or another major injury for Chad, why Brooks Bollinger would be on this team come Week 1.

    We'll see soon enough.

    I completely agree, and its not like Brooks is in high demand anywhere, if 1 QB for injured im sure we could pick him up. I say that now, but I have a sinking feeling if we cut him were gonna see him in a KC uniform by week 1. Yes i know they now have Trent Green, Damon Huard, and Brodie Croyle, but its a thing I think Herm would do.

    The Jets used five QB's last year so I don't see why it is so hard to see them having four on the roster this year.

    I like Brooks alot and would hate to see him cut but Green Lantern makes a great point in that roster spots are so precious it's tough to see them carry 4 QB's.

    It is not that outlandish. Most teams carry two kickers; a punter and your kicker. However, even though roster spots are so precious, some teams carry a third "kickoff specialist" if their regular FG kicker doesn't have a booming leg. They don't want to ..... but they know for their particular roster it is the best thing to do.

    Also, Brooks Bollinger proved to have value last season. There are plenty of teams out there that need depth at the QB position. If we were to cut Brooks, there would be multiple teams scrambling to pick him up off waivers. You don't just cut someone who has value.

    Lastly, when Chad Pennington is your starting QB, a twice surgically repaired Chad Pennington, you take nothing for granted. In a normal situation you would never carry four QBs. However, our QB situation is not normal. What if Chad leads us to a 3-0 start and then re-injures his shoulder in the 4rth quarter of our 4th game with us leading 27-14? We would then be 4-0 with Ramsey and Clemens as our only two QBs on the roster. Not a terrible situation ..... but you need a third. Now lets say one of those two get injured. Then what?

    Since Chad has the heart of a lion but the body of a porcelain doll you have to treat the QB position of the NY Jets different then any other team in the NFL. And, since Brooks has value on the open market, and a salary cap number that is in no way crippling, you don't just cut him for nothing.

    I think we will carry 4 QBs on our opening day roster. Again, if 3 kickers, why not 4 QBs?

    Starting 3-0?

    You do realize that the Jets play the Pats in week 2.

    It really depends... Its impossible to say for certain that they will carry four, and its impossible to say for certain that they will carry three. To me, what it depends on is how much they trust Kellen Clemmens to be a contributor this year. If they don't have a problem putting him in if the injuries call for it (as we all know, it can happen), then I see no reason to carry more than 3. However, if they want to just have this be a learning year for Kellen (doubtful, but possible), then they'll probably want to carry a 4th QB, incase both Chad and his back-up, whoever it is, gets injured.

    Even funnier is that someone here thinks the Jets would trade Ramsey after giving up a 6th to get him And funnier still, is that someone here thinks Bollinger is worth a draft pick at all.

    Jets will NOT carry 4 QBs. Get that out of your head.

    Mangini = BB

    No way doesa Mangini take up a roster spot with a 4th QB. No how, no way.

    ? Most teams do not carry 2 Kickers in fact Most teams carry only 1 Kicker and 1 punter. every once in a while you will see a team carry a Kicker who can kick deep on kickoffs and make long FG's but thats is more of an exception not the rule.

    Yes, so at worst we will be 1-1

    I can't see them keeping 4 QB's either. Assuming Chad starts, gets hurt and is out for the season, they still have two others and could sign a third if they needed to.

    Also, why do they need four when they also have a fifth (Smith) for emergency purposes who may be better than the fourth.

    Where were ALL the Patriots' fans PRE-BILL PARCELLS? Living in Rhode Island all my life, I remember when you could drive up to Schaeffer/Sullivan/Foxboro Stadium and get a seat GAMEDAY! New England Patriots' Football was basically "Glorified Welfare" at that point. Other than 1985? Where were you guys? NOW it's like EVERYONE around here LOVED the Pats all their lives. They all BLEED Patriots football. I actually asked a few Pats fans that I know, who the coach was that Bill Parcells replaced? NONE OF THEM KNEW! Basically proving my point!

    THE BANDWAGON HAS PASSED THROUGH NEW ENGLAND AND EVERYONE JUMPED RIGHT ON!

    FAIR-WEATHER-FANS....ALL OF THEM! PROVE ME WRONG!
