The JI "Predict The Pre-Season" Thread, Jets vs Tampa

Very simple, this thread is for predictions and speculation, in a place we can find later.

The question? Predict the final score of our opening preseason game, and list a few "notables" such as (for example) Chad's performace, the D's performance, Hiuston's play, etc, etc, etc. Whatever you think will be notable is fair game.

For this first pre-season game, I think the one question above all else is: How does Chad Pennington perfom.

So put on your predic'tin hat, and post away!

    Jets - 14
    Bucs-10

Chad looks impressive playing 1 series and leadign the Jets to a touchdown (Coles)

Ramsey gets a ton of playing time and shows his potential.

I'll also be at that game.

    Jets backups outplay Bucs backups.

I am afraid to say, but I think our 2nd and third string WR's Boston, Hilliard, Stovall, Shepherd, will dominate your CB's.
    Bucs win 17-7

Mangini will give the start to Ramsey to make a statement ... Chad plays in the 2nd quarter.

Do you really think Mangini is dumb enough to put PennyBoy in there behind the 2nd string OL?

Well on our way to our third straight AFC-East Preseason championship title.

Personally , I really don't care what the final score is . My main concern is no injuries of significant nature. If we win cool if not , not a big deal.

Preseason is what it is - a time for coaches to get a look at players who are trying to nail down roster spots and to get players in game shape for the upcoming season . My typical focus on these games is to pick out a handful of players and try to isolate them - watch them in more detail then if it were a regular season game . I admit this is harder to do with TV game film as the focus is on who has the ball .

Clemens plays 1 Quarter. 6 of 10 for 110 Yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, Sacked Once.

    Jets 0 - Bucs 0

Injuries, that is. This is my ideal outcome. Can the regular season start already?

    Jets 40, Bucs 0.

Pennington plays so well, they leave him in the whole time.

In reality, I say Jets 14, Bucs 10, Penny does well, Ramsey does ok with the 2nd string, and Trevor Johnson makes some big plays.

    I think there's a possibility Chad won't start either.

Edit: As an added insurance policy, one of the other young bucks will get the nod.
