Novacek: "The Jets will be O.K."

I'm shocked - finally a national football pundit who isn't calling the Jets a terrible team.

Finally someone giving Pennington some credit and calling him a great QB when healthy.

No worries he will get more and more credit as the season goes on.

    You're kidding, right?

1 out of 100 writers says a dumb thing like that and you believe it.

This pic of Novacek doesn't instill a lot of confidence in his "expert" opinion. Actually it looks like the wiped the drool off his chin just long enough to take the shot.

So you agree with with Tom Jackson saying the Jets will be the worst team in the NFL this year"?

You say plenty of dumb things here too and amazingly people believe you as well. Go figure.

You have almost 20,000 posts on an OPPOSING team's forum. Are any of them NOT cracks on Pennington?

    Just curious.

Yes, the ones I blast Nugent for being a wasted 2nd round pick.

I'd have to agree with you on that one.

What did Novacek write that you disagree with TX? Did you read the article?
I guess 19,000 posts don't allow you time to read.

    Novacek wrote:

The Jets will be OK, especially if Chad Pennington is healthy. He needs to show he can throw and stay healthy, and that will help open up the running game for Derrick Blaylock and Kevan Barlow.

Really a very mildly positive comment about the Jets chances in 1 game.

Keep in mind he is saying the Jets will be Ok against Tennesee not for the whole season. (At least, that's how I read it.)

Out of curiosity, what is your predicted stat-line for our "Great QB When Healthy" for week one.

Let's not forget the ol' "The Jets haven't won a Superbowl in 37 years" topics.

    21 of 29

    207 yards

    1 TD

    0 INT's

    I'll take that.

I'm not expecting Chad to be the same player as he was back in 2002. But he'll be effective and move the offense.

Fair enough, you'll take that (and frankly, so would I).

But you said he's a "Great QB when healthy".

So is he healthy now? If not, how "unhealthy" is he, and how good is he "unhealthy".

And is that, in your view, the stat-line of a "Great QB" do you think?

I think he is healthy, but he'll be playing in his 1st regular season game in almost a year so I won't expect him to knock our socks off.
